Today’s browns news

Today is the first day of legal tampering before the new league year officially starts. here’s what’s happened so far.

1: browns free up 36 million in cap space by restructuring Deshuan Watson’s contract. That 36 million will be payed off in future years. This leaves the browns with around 20 million in cap space. I still expect more contracts to be restructured at some point.

2: Browns sign Ethan Pocic to a 3 year 18-million-dollar deal. The browns don’t have to worry about center for the next 3 years now.

3: The 49ers signed DT Javon Hargrave. Reportedly, the decision was between the browns and the 49ers for Hargrave. This is a bummer.

4: With Javon Hargrave signed by the 49ers, and Daron Payne signed by the commanders, does that mean we have lost all hope of getting a big-name DT? No. We have another option. Deforest Buckner. Deforest Buckner is on a rebuilding team, the colts. Since the Colts are in a rebuild, they would probably be willing to save lots of cap space and get a 2nd round pick to get rid of a player whose window is closing. This could be similar to an Amari Cooper trade, where maybe we don’t even need to give up a 2nd round pick. Deforest Buckner is my favorite trade target.

5: Browns are close to resigning LB Sonie Talki Talki.

Tune in tomorrow for more news!
