In this article I am going to react to the madden ratings the Browns players received and talk about whether I agree or not.

QB Ratings:

Deshaun Watson has the same rating as Justin Fields, and Derek Carr. I think his rating is too low. I also think DTR’s rating is too low. I understand he’s unproven, but he’s shown enough promise to have a rating that’s closer to 70 then 60.

WR ratings:

I think these ratings are solid. Personally, I would give Cedric Tillman a higher rating then James Prosche, and I might give Jerry Jeudy a little higher rating. However, I understand both ratings, because James Prosche has punt returning skills, and we don’t know what we are going to get from Jerry Jeudy.

RB rankings:

I think these ratings are fine. I would personally have Chubb at 98, however he is the 2nd overall rated RB, so I’m not complaining.

TE ratings:

I think David Njoku and Jordan Akins were rated fairly. Madden did a good job putting Njoku as a top 5 TE.

OT ratings:

I have seen enough from Dawand Jones to say he should be rated in the 80s. Giving him a similar rating as Jedrick Wills is insane.

Interior OL ratings:

I think Ethan Pocic should be rated in the 80s as well. Besides Ethan Pocic, the rest of the ratings seem fine.

DE ratings:

Giving Alex Wright the same rating as McGuire and Thomas is insane. McGuire and Thomas have done nothing in the NFL. I think Alex Wright should have 10 points added to his rating.

DT ratings:

First of all, Dalvin Tomlinson should be higher than Shelby Harris. Second of all, how does a 7th round rookie have a better rating then Alex Wright? They really messed up on the Alex Wright rating.

LB ratings:

The biggest thing that jumps out to me here is Mohamoud Diabate’s rating is too low.

CB ratings:

I think Denzel Ward, Martin Emerson, and Cam Mitchell should be given a higher rating. Martin Emerson is a young CB who is on the cusp of eliteness. He should be rated closer to 90 then 80.

Safety ratings:

These are bad. Everyone’s ratings are too low except for Juan Thornhill and Rodney Mcleod in my opinion.

Special teams ratings:

Dustin Hopkins rating was too low. Dustin Hopkins was excellent last season and needs more than a 6-point rating difference between him and Cade York.
