Browns vs Bengals was an interesting game. The defense played amazing throughout the entire game. Deshaun Watson struggled at first, but then got up to speed. Deshaun Watson and Joe Burrow were both primed to have a slow start. Joe Burrow missed lots of practice time due to his injury. Deshaun Watson, as I said here:
had a good chance to have a slow start for 1 or 2 games to get accumulated to this offense. So, both Watson and Burrow were in similar circumstances. Both were primed for a slow start and were playing in bad weather. Even in the beginning of the game, Deshaun Watson handled these circumstances significantly better than joe burrow. But people still called him washed, and said he is going to suck this year.
This was resolved, when Deshaun Watson got into it and started playing well.
Defense played great today. D line got tons of pressures, and secondary was making plays all day. defense allowed Deshaun Watson to get things figured out, by giving him chances. He did not get this last season which largely made it harder for him to figure things out last season.
Bad news is Jack Conklin is likely out for the season.
Today also proved that cutting Cade York and trading a 7th for Dustin Hopkins was a good idea.
