Three MASSIVE fantasy football sleepers that are on the Browns

As Browns fans, we know more about players on our team then other NFL fans do. This can come to our advantage when we recognize a sleeper no one else does. This goes for the fans of any team. This blog is for any NFL fans, who want some fantasy football prospective from a browns fan. In this blog, I am going to go through my top 3 fantasy football sleepers that are on the browns.

Note: this blog is talking about full PPR.

1: Donovan Peoples-Jones

DPJ is being drafted 195 overall in fantasy football drafts, which is WR 67. He is being drafted behind the Bengals defense and Matt Gay(kicker). This late in drafts, there is nothing left, you are just either drafting a kicker/defense, or a player who has a tiny chance of surviving the season on your team without getting dropped to the waiver wire. I think DPJ is a guy who you may start for a decent amount of your games. DPJ had 9.8 fantasy football points per game in 2022, (47th) 7.8 in 2021(61st), and 4.9 in 2020(#104th). This was with very inconsistent QB play, and bad utilization from Kevin Stefanski. This year we have Deshaun Watson, and Stefanski knows he needs to fix his crap if he is going to remain the coach of this team. Even if Deshaun Watson and Kevin Stefanski completely flop, and there is no improvement, DPJ would still be a steal.

2: Elijah Moore

Elijah Moore is being drafted at 152 overall, which is WR 55. I do not like this as much as DPJ, because Elijah Moore is not proven. Elijah Moore is an upside pick. He had 12.6 fantasy points per game(#28th) in 2021(his rookie season). He had 5.5 fantasy points per game(92nd) in 2022. This was with Zach Wilson. With a huge QB upgrade, and better utilization, I would expect significant improvement. A player with such a high upside in late rounds is gold. But what if he does not improve? he is being drafted at 152nd overall. If he did not improve, he would play as a 92nd overall again. Thats still decent value. Worst case scenario you get decent value, best case you get the steal of the draft. As browns fans, we are extremely exited about Elijah Moore’s potential this year.

3: Deshaun Watson

Deshaun Watson is being drafted 72nd overall, which is also QB9. He is being drafted directly behind Trevor Lawrence, who is young and unproven. Deshaun Watson’s value is nowhere near the value of the previous to players I spoke on, where there was huge upside and 0 possibility of bust (because they were being drafted so late). There is a worst-case scenario where Deshaun Watson somehow magically forgets how to play after proving himself as an elite QB. There is also a best-case scenario (that I think is more likely) where he returns to 2020 form. He often scores highly because not only is he an elite QB, but he is a mobile QB(which as you know, scores lots of fantasy points). Joe Burrow is being drafted 33rd overall, as QB4. I expect Deshaun Watson to score as well to better as Joe Burrow in fantasy football next year.
