If you are sleeping on Deshaun Watson and the Browns, you will soon regret it.

The Browns have been a very slept on team this offseason. Some factors that cause this are negative views towards Deshaun Watson, and people underestimating the upgrades made to the team. People who are sleeping on the browns right now, will regret it later. First, I will discuss why Deshaun Watson in the offense should be elite.

Deshaun Watson proved himself as an elite QB in Houston Texas. Everybody considered him a top 5 QB. However, after missing over 2 years, people see him as trash, and worse than Kenny Picket. This is absolute garbage. He can’t just forget how to play. He is an elite QB, and he should be able to overcome adversity of joining a new team. Then, people expected him to play horrible in his first 6 games, but when he played just fine (which is better than horrible obviously) those same people freaked out, and said the trade was worse than the Russel Wilson trade, which is nonsense.

But he did play horrible in his first 6 games! Wrong. People who did not watch the games looking at the box scores said that he played horrible. In reality, he made some great plays, and was just inconsistent and struggling to fully adjust to a new offense. The offense was very adjusted to Jacoby Brisset and was caught off guard by Deshaun Watson’s ability to extend plays. This caused receivers to quit routes early, and OL to quit blocking early. While he did not play up to 230 million dollars, he did not play horrible. If Jacoby Brisset played like that in those 6 games, people would be praising him for playing fine. Paying fine was impressive, considering he hadn’t played in over 2 years, and his offense was not adjusted to him, and he was not adjusted to his offense.

So far, we have established that he was elite in Houston, and an elite QB should be able to handle adversity. Because of that, he should be able to go from fine to great this year with a full offseason of adjusting to his offense and making corrections with Kevin Stefanski. Deshaun Watson had elite level play on a terrible team, imagine how he could play on an offense that Jacoby Brisset played decent at, that has been since upgraded even more. But what about the defense? Wasn’t it TERRIBLE last year. Yes, it was terrible last year. The defense was not as talented as we thought. Some of the players were as talented as we thought but could not shine with the other struggling players. We got rid of Joe Woods, who was a big chunk of the problem, we fixed our DT room, and we upgraded the safety room. All the issues are fixed.

But we lost Perrion Winfrey! the DT room is ruined! No, Perrion Winfrey doesn’t make that much of a catastrophic difference. The Browns were happy with the room before, so I don’t think this changed things. The Browns added Dalvin Tomlinson, which fixed our biggest need in the DT room of run stopping. They added Siaki Ika, which Jim Schwartz was very excited about. This is notable because Jim Schwartz is very good with DT’s. We also added Maurice Hurst. Jim Schwartz should also be able to get more out of Jordan Elliot. With the help of Jim Schwartz, this should be a solid rotation. There will be DT’s cut that can be added to the rotation if needed. In Conclusion, The Browns offense and defense should both perform on a high level, and any Browns haters will make a fool of themselves. Still don’t believe me? Tell me why in the comments of one of my twitter posts!
